From the village of Stërbeg for dialysis in Durrës, “Fundjavë Ndryshe” donates the vehicle

Transportation of hemodialysis patients has become a nightmare. It is more difficult for those who live in villages, which are far from the hospital. To get the service, these patients need to move from one vehicle to another, and these distances have a cost on their budget.

Xhevat Cullhaj from the village of Stërbeg in Spille, performs hemodialysis three times a week in the hospital of Durrës. He is reimbursed by the state for transport with 320 lekë per day, while he spends 800-1000 lekë per day, every time he goes to Durrës. For 13 times that he has to appear to perform dialysis in Durrës, the cost for transport alone goes to about 12,000 ALL per month. Due to this problem, but also to two other people with the same diagnosis from the same area, “Fundjavë Ndryshe” has donated a vehicle.

The Executive Director of the “Fundjavë Ndryshe” Foundation, Arbër Hajdari, went to the area himself to meet them and hand over the vehicle, much needed by them.

“In Stërbeg, Spille Kavaja. To meet Xhevat, who is on dialysis 3 days a week in Durrës. He has to wake up early in the morning, three days a week to travel by 3 different vehicles to Durrës. A few days ago we saw the suffering of Xhevat and 2 other people with the same diagnosis from the same area. Today, we donated a vehicle so that these 3 people can easily go for dialysis. “Just look at the joy in his eyes”.
